ℹ️ Info for Courage XL Showcasers

  • Anyone who can be on site in Cologne is welcome to submit a game.
If your spot is being covered by a country delegation or publisher, just tick the right box in the form so we know who to invoice 😉

  • Everyone with a valid ticket is welcome — but there will be phases for entry:

    18:00 – 19:00 → Build up
You are welcome from 18:00 to set up your station. Each showcaser gets access for up to 4 people total — including yourself and any friends or teammates helping you out 🎟️🎮

    19:00 – 20:00 → VIP Hour
The quiet before the storm. This first hour is for invited guests only — typically publishers, investors, platform reps, press and event sponsors. It is your best chance to have focused conversations and show your game while the room is still calm 💬✨

    20:00 – 21:00 → Early Access
Doors open for attendees with 20:00 tickets — mostly fellow game developers and industry peers. A great time for casual feedback 🍻

    21:00 – 23:30 → General Admission
Doors open for everyone else. Things get lively and the room fills up fast. To keep things safe and comfortable, we use a one-out one-in policy once we hit capacity.

    • 18:00 Build up the venue. You can bring max 4 showcasers per showcase spot.
    • 19:00 VIP hour.
    • 20:00 Early Access tickets entree.
    • 21:00 All tickets entree.
    • 23:30 End of Show.
    • 00:00 All packed up.
  • The Great Northern is a club in the heart of San Francisco. Pictures can be found here.

The address is: The Great Northern, 119 Utah St, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States

Find The Great Northern on Google Maps.

  • To keep costs low for everyone, we have not bought any access to a local network. This means that there is NO WIFI available. Bring an offline version of your build, or if you need internet access explore some of the many e-sim possibilities out there.

  • Each showcase gets one circular standing table:

There is limited room for full-size banners so we recommend small tabletop signs or creative setups like something you can attach to your table. If you bring a regular stand-up banner, make sure that your banner is max 80cm x 200cm.

There will be one power socket per booth, so bring your own extension cord if you need more outlets for your setup.

    Don’t bring!

    • Additional screens.
    • A projector.
    • More than 1 banner.
if you bring these, you’ll not be allowed to set it up.
    • Stools or chairs. We can keep the showcasing spots this cheap, because we bring in a big crowd. This means there is no room for additional seating arrangements. Obviously if you have condition that does not allow you stand for 4 hours, you can bring your own stool or ask us if we can add one over email.
  • Bookmark this page to take the floor plan digitally with you to the venue. We won’t distribute the floor plan on-site.

FLOOR PLAN AVAILABLE 1-2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE EVENT

    * Please note: Standing table locations are planned in advance but may be adjusted as needed.
*Assignments are indicative and could be reshuffled on the day of the event to best accommodate everyone.

  • Make sure to bring your own gear!

Bring your own gear — we keep it simple, so that means you’ll need to come prepared!

    🎛️ Tech Essentials

    • Extension cable
    • Power strip if you need more than one socket
    • Controllers/keyboard/mouse if your game needs this
    • Headphones — a must if your game has audio
    • Black tape — handy for keeping cables neat and safe

    📢 Optional Presentation Bits

    • Business cards or flyers to share your info and game details
    • Tabletop signage or creative display elements: full-size banners won’t fit in the space, so think small but clever, like a table banner or something you can hang above your monitor or clip to your setup
    • A roll-up banner (max. 80cm x 200cm)
    • Additional screens
    • A projector
    • More than 1 roll-up banner
    • More than 4 people
If you want to bring more, ask them to get a ticket for 20:00 or 21:00.
    • Stools or chairs
We keep spots affordable because we bring in a big crowd. This means there is no room for seating. Obviously if you have condition that does not allow you stand for 4 hours, you can bring your own stool or let us know in advance.
  • Each showcaser gets €50 worth of drink tokens as part of their showcase fee. Tokens are handed out on-site and are yours to distribute however you like.

They can be given out as a little thank you to the first visitors who really engage with your game: play it properly, share feedback, or have a good conversation.

Each token can be exchanged for a beer, a soda, or a glass of wine. 🥤🍺🍷

  • We’ll be sharing photos after the event, but we’d love to see it through your eyes too! Post your favorite moments using #CourageXL and tag us so we can cheer you on.
