As kids we learn to find our way in the world through play and experimentation but we donāt allow ourselves to do so when we grow up, why is that? I believe in harnessing the power of play, experience and experimentation to learn about ourselves, others and the world around us.
My primary drive is my curiosity to explore, pursue and create new experiences. Playing and experimenting to find what works and resonates. Whether it is creating awareness or building skills towards mastery. I focus on understanding and collaborating with the target audience to make an impact and create measurable effect(s). While results are important, I think working together is a playful exercise in itself.
Hi, Iām Rob. Iām curious, love playing, and want to make people a little bit happier. Luckily, that is what I can do every day.
I have a PhD in Playful Persuasion and am co-founder and director of Games for Health. We work to make 1 billion people happy and healthy using the power of play, interaction and technology. I enjoy working with experts in healthcare and happiness, in order to design and create scalable solutions that truly change a personās life. We implement these solutions (inter)nationally with our partners in order to impact as many people as we can.
Iām also exploring the application of science: I believe that science, business and healthcare can and should propel each other forwards. I discover and validate this through international research projects.
How can we bring more diversity to the game industry work force? Want to join in and start a discussion on this issue? Laura van Nieuwenhuijze (Chair of COC Midden Nederland) shares best practices and lessons learned of advocating for more diversity & inclusion.
This event is brought by you by the Games [4Diversity]. Entrance is free of charge. Everyone is welcome to join in and mingle at the monthly GameDevCafƩs every 1st Wednesday of the month.
How can we bring more diversity to the (game industry) workforce? Thatās a question we explore withĀ Laura van Nieuwenhuijze. Laura is president ofĀ COC Midden-Nederland.Ā Since 1946, COC has been fighthing for equal rights, emancipation and social acceptance of lesbian women, gay men, bisexuals, transgenders and intersex people (LGBTI).Ā COC Midden-Nederland focuses on security, (political) advocacy and activities for vulnerable target groups, including young people, the over-50s, refugees, women and LGBT people with a physical or mental disability.Ā With so much history, and so many successes (e.g. lately they managed to have 20 townships sign the De Regenboogstembusakkoord), Laura can give some great insights in how they accomplish certain goals.Ā Menno & Laura will talk about best and worst practices in their fight for diversity and inclusion on the work floor.
