GDC 2024 Post Awards Expo Party w/HashiCorp, Unity & 50+ Indie Game Demos
SF Game Development and The Midway present the largest expo party of GDC week at the iconic 42,000-square-foot venue. From music and art, to a full service bar and restaurant, The Midway is a venue you won’t want to miss if your in-town for GDC. It’s only a short Uber from Moscone center, and is home to some of the largest live music performances in San Francisco. Come attend our expo on Wednesday, March 20th from 7:00pm-12:00am. This is the largest after hours meetup hosted the entire week of GDC, and you won’t want to miss it. Best of all, it’s completely FREE, all you have to do is RSVP on Meetup or Eventbrite. The live game demos is co-organized with our friends over at Courage Events.
We’ve split the event into two separate rooms focused around: indie game demo stations and tech talks. We are also excited to announce that the main room will feature DJs who will play some video game themed music while you are networking and playing games. This is a professional networking event for game developers, artists, students, indies, or really anyone interested in game development. You do NOT need a GDC pass to attend, this is an event open to the public, must be 21+ to enter, so please RSVP, attend and show your support. This premium unofficial GDC event is one you won’t want to miss this year.

Ride Room: Music and Expo
Join us on our immersive expo floor with over 50+ indie game demo stations where you can discover and play games created by talented developers from around the globe. From unique narratives to groundbreaking gameplay, this event showcases the creativity and passion of indie game developers. Engage with developers, explore cutting-edge titles, and witness the extraordinary craftsmanship that goes into each game. Whether you’re a dedicated gamer or simply curious about the latest trends in the gaming industry, our GDC 2024 Expo Party promises an unforgettable adventure filled with excitement, inspiration, and the opportunity to connect with the global indie gaming community.
While you network, hear some awesome music from the following DJs:
DJ The Barbary Ghost will be spinning a unique video game themed set for our GDC 2024 After Party. Joshua (AKA The Barbary Ghost) was on the QA team for titles such as Sonic Adventure 2, Psychonauts, and Skylanders. they have also produced original music inspired by video game soundtracks with their project’s “Vernian Process” and “Profondo Delle Tenebre”.
DJ any% and DJ Path 2 are both local SF Bay Area DJs who will spin a mix of chiptune and liquid drum and bass, taking inspiration from the Forza Horizon Soundtrack and other old school chiptune genres.
Carousel Room: Technical Workshop Room
Hear from speakers from HashiCorp, Unity, Sentry, Discord, PubNub, MotionMix and more. You’ll have a chance to attend these live sessions to learn more about APIs and technical game development concepts. At the end of each session there will be a Q/A where you will get to ask your development questions to the speakers.
